In house I.T. attempted to meet the need but came up short.
Internal costs and the estimated development and deployment time mandated looking for an outside solution.
The outside solution had to be inexpensive, available in days, not weeks, and had to be modifiable to mirror the current work processes.
The Solution
YardView easily met the first two criteria, price and time to deploy and with minor modifications to mirror the operation was a perfect fit.
Moving and re-naming field names and creating receiving functionality provided a low cost, fast solution that met their needs and mirrored their operation.
Learning the program was easy and as the customer stated "wow, this is much more than I expected".
The Situation
Michigan manufacturer who supplies the auto industry needs a better way to manage 70 to 100 storage trailers.
Trailers are partially and fully loaded with key raw materials.
Production efficiency depends on knowing what is where, and how much is available.
Additionally the manual receiving function, can be improved and having fast look up capability will free up time for primary tasks.
